I woke up this morning to the most beautiful ring on my doorbell. It was the mail carrier bringing me the prototype cards for the boardgame! My excitement is still very present and I’d like to share with you the results.

At this point I would like to tell you that these cards are made with a plastic finish which was a mistake from the company as I asked them to be as eco-friendly as possible. For that reason I re-ordered them as they are supposed to be, kraft paper with no plastic finish, and I’m waiting on the second batch! But in the meantime I just keep looking and looking at the cards, imagining the final result when all contents will be together and my boardgame will be a reality.

The artwork of the cards is amazing and it was specifically designed taking into consideration the target group of the boardgame which is children of 3+ years old. Bold colours, lots of them, with sleek shapes and lines and most importantly, a very pleasant theme….farm animals!

Because of the pandemic, things are moving a bit slower than expected and the schedule that I had in mind is way behind but I’m doing my best to be positive and work my way around the pandemic (as much as it’s permissible).

Anyway, I’m focusing on the good parts. I got to peek of the world of my boardgame. The cards are only the beginning. As I have said to my previous post, the box is also under construction, the other main part of the boardgame.

What do you think of the cards and the artwork? What kind of material do you use for your cards? As a customer what type of cards you enjoy playing with? Let me know what you think in the comments below. See you on the next post with the attempt of creating a box.
